The Wheatfield

Panning from left to right across the Wheatfield. Sickles defended a shallow ridge line across the center of the field, the same ridge that extends from Devil's Den to the Wheatfield. It should be noted that while there are a few monuments in the Wheatfield proper, there are clumps of them to the left and right. Why cross open ground when one can flank about through the trees? These shots were taken from near the 148 Penn monument, near the southeast corner of the field.

Panning Right. I would personally rather defend Little Round Top than this mighty ridge.

And right again.
