Inside the Five Inch Turret

The four operator's positions in the turret.

Again, the five inch turrets were manpower intensive. I don't know how many loaders were required, but there are positions for four operators. The left and right positions seemed comperable to those of the pointers on a quad 40. Both have spotting scopes, gear computers, and could likely target manually in elivation and azimouth should contact be lost with primary fire control. I won't pretend to have figured out the center two positions.

The right side targeting computer.

The Breech of one of the guns.

Salt air and tourists are a bad combination.
